11am-11.30am: Instagram Makers Show
Watch fellow visitors strut their stuff as they model garments made from patterns and fabrics provided by some of our fabulous exhibitors. They love to share on Instagram; now, they share their creations on our catwalk.

12pm-1pm: Sewing a Sustainable Capsule Wardrobe
with Lauren Tedstone & Nerrisa Pratt
Join Lauren Tedstone (quarter-finalist of GBSB 2023) and Nerrisa Pratt, makers, friends, and sustainable fashion enthusiasts, as they discuss all things capsule wardrobe. From audits to sourcing the perfect supplies for sewing or making an ‘it garment,’ they’ll chat through their own plans as well as answer questions and share processes on creating your very own dream wardrobe. Nerrisa has a fast-growing audience on both TikTok and Instagram who love to follow her sustainable and stylish life, while Lauren’s unique brand of sewing sees her creating her dream wardrobe packed full of technically sewn garments, including hand-knit pieces inspired by ready-to-wear styles.

with Laura
Join Laura who tallks to Wendy Gardiner about the Macron project and upcycling – with plenty of tips and inspirartion for you to take away and look afresh at your wardrobe and charity shop projects.

6pm-7pm: Turn Your Hobby into a Career
with Nicole Akong
Nicole is a self-taught designer and maker who turned her hobby into a successful career, not once, but twice. First by channeling her love of jewellery-making into an acclaimed fashion jewellery line sold by renowned retailers including ASOS, the V&A and Harvey Nichols. Then by turning her love of clothes-making into new ventures, which included ready-to-wear, fabric sales, sewing pattern development, alterations & repairs and Instagram content creation. Nicole will be sharing all the wisdom and lessons she learnt along her journey from crafter to creative influencer and entrepreneur.

Come and see the first-ever Prima Pattern Fashion Show! Readers will be strutting the catwalk wearing the wonderful outfits they’ve made from Prima sewing patterns. Get inspired for ideas you can make too, when you meet Prima’s contributing pattern editor, Becky Perry, who will be sharing top tips and giving away some of our fabulous patterns, as well as copies of Prima magazine. You’ll also get to meet Prima Editor-in-Chief Jo Checkley and find out about life at the magazines and all the behind-the-scenes gossip from the celebrity shoots. Look forward to seeing you there!

with Hanna Niemi
TAUKO Magazine is a pioneering independent print publication for home sewists and fashion and culture lovers around the world. Headquartered in Helsinki and Berlin, it’s driven by a team of art researchers, fashion designers, makers, and advocates for planetary wellbeing. Each issue features more than 10 sewing pattern designs created by celebrities and newcomers from the sewing community. Hanna from TAUKO will give us a glimpse behind the curtain, sharing insights into the creative processes and behind-the-scenes magic.

with Angela Pressley, The Sewing Club
Want a top that fits you perfectly? Just take two body measurements, follow Angela’s demo, and you’re set! Angela will guide you through making this easy top, sharing tips and tricks for each step. She’ll show you how simple it is, armed with basic techniques for a professional finish and how it can be adapted into a dress. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Angela, an experienced dressmaker, ensures her students get the perfect fit. Her upcoming book, ‘Simple Machine Sewing,’ offers modern projects. 2.30pm-3pm: The Joyful Rebellion of Street Stitching
with Suzi Warren
Suzi Warren, a Polite Protestor, Artist, Human Billboard, and founder of the Clothes Hospital and Twisted Twee, shares the accidental origin of the global movement Street Stitching. It began as she repaired her tights outside Primark during lockdown. Street Stitching demonstrates the pleasure and necessity of garment repair in areas dominated by fast fashion chains. People set up lines of chairs along high streets to mend. Suzi will showcase a variety of #stitchitdontditchit chair banners made by stitchers to unify their lines, sharing how this encourages shoppers to mend before they spend. Learn how to join in this gentle disruption, happening in over 60 cities worldwide.

A cast of Bees has flocked together to wow us with their own creations, and unlike the TV show, they are modelling them themselves! We’ll find out what they love to make and what they are up to now.

4.30pm-5pm: Tilly and the Buttons Q&A
with Tilly Walnes
Tilly, of Tilly and The Buttons, first came to our notice as the author of a popular sewing blog of the same name and as a contestant on the first Great British Sewing Bee. Since then, she and her refreshing pattern brand have gone from strength to strength. She celebrates 10 years in the business this year, so join us as Nerrisa Pratt, a fellow creative businesswoman, asks her about her journey.
