Stitch-School Community Project Returns!

Sponsored by

Back by popular demand, our community embroidery event hosted by Stitch-School, returns to the Stitch Festival.

Visitors can add to the three-metre linen cloth stretched on the Stitch-School embroidery table which was started at last year’s event. Embroidery guidance will be provided by Stitch School tutors who will share the history and origins of embroidery stitches.

Threads have been kindly donated by Aurifil, so you can immerse yourself in this mindful and creative project and enjoy some relaxing stitching.

About Stitch-School

Stitch-School was co-founded in 2017 by Melanie Bowles, with the aim to provide professional and inspirational guidance to reconnect to the benefits of embroidery through bespoke embroidery kits, workshops and community events around the Stitch-School large communal embroidery table.

Over the last six years Stitch-School have worked with the V&A, the Barbican, Alexander McQueen, Marie Curie, Yinka Ilori, The London Craft Festival, Marie Curie, The British Council, Hemingway Design and London Craft Week.

Stitch-School also produces educational embroidery kits to learn and practice the vocabulary of stitches. They are excited to launch their small pocket book ’50 Embroidery Stitches’ illustrated by Melanie Bowles, designed by Jane Chipchase.
