Great British Quilter ‘Hope’ Mini Quilt Challenge

“Hope is being able to see that there is light, despite all the darkness” – Desmond Tutu

The Hope Mini Quilt Challenge gave quilters the opportunity to create a small mini quilt, representing the theme of hope in any way they chose. Fifty mini quilts were shortlisted with one quilt selected as the ultimate winner and you can see all selected pieces displayed at The Stitch Festival.

The global pandemic has been a challenge for us all and yet hope is the one thing that we cling onto as we look to a brighter future. With minimal constraints, the challenge provided the opportunity to unleash quilters’ creativity and to experiment with new techniques, colours and skills.

The judges of the challenge included Sarah Ashford, Jo Avery, Karen Lewis, Lynne Goldsworthy, Leisa Morris and Chris English. 10% of the submission fee was donated to NHS Charities Together.
